About Us

The Kerrville Classics started as the Kerrville Jam Band 9 years ago when talented musicians Steve and John with more than 100 years of combined band experience joined forces to play favorites such as Elvis, Willie, Jimmy Buffet, Johnny Rivers, Credence, Merle, Del Shannon, George Strait, Tony Bennett and many more. 

Lead singer Steve Pickels, with his smooth tenor voice, sang in Houston clubs for more than 30 years with various classic rock bands like Eight Track Mind and Pinball Lizard.  They also played great dance music for private events, weddings and reunions.  

Guitarist and vocalist Dale Seabaugh began his musical experience performing with Express Unlimited in Houston. This unique group had a girl on drums, a girl on bass guitar, Dale and another guy on vocals and guitars. Everyone in the band sang. The Express Unlimited received great reviews in the Houston Chronicle Newspaper. While in college Dale performed with bands in Austin, Denton, Ft Worth and occasionally Oklahoma. One musical highlight was when sang with the Houston Symphony. In later years Dale performed throughout the Central Texas area working with bands at country clubs and private functions. .

On keyboard, trumpet and back-up vocals is John Verbraken, who spent the first 30 years of his music career as a band/choral director in Wisconsin. His dance and rock band played weddings, parties, resorts and sports venues.  John got smart and moved to Kerrville 15 years ago and enjoys all the music opportunities of the Hill Country.  He has played in several area country bands and church worship teams and has directed the Kerrville Jam Band at the Dietert Center for 7 years previous.  

John, Dale and Steve love to engage the audience and entertain. In fact, you can find the Kerrville Classics entertaining at the Pint & Plow brewery as well for residents of Hilltop Village and Avir at Kerrville rehabs each month. Over the years we have entertained at all the senior rehabs in Kerrville. The residents say that the Kerrville Classic music is the best and is the best therapy they could ever get! 

The Kerrville Classics play a wide variety of styles from 60’s classics and vintage rock to old standards and show tunes to country favorites.

You will find the Classics often doing monthly "Show" themes -Elvis, Halloween, Veterans Specials, 4th of July, the Beatles, 50's, Country, Oktoberfest and many more. We love to call the show the "Joy Of Music".
